RiSC+ funding for projects modelling resilient UK supply chains

Strand 3 of the RiSC+ Flexible Fund is now open and inviting proposals for modelling-focused research and innovation to strengthen UK supply chain resilience.

The RiSC+ Flexible Fund supports cross-sector, interdisciplinary projects modelling resilient UK supply chains, including food. It is funded by UKRI under the Building a Secure and Resilient World theme.

Award range: £50,000 – £100,000

Opening date: 1 July 2026

Closing date: 7 October 2026 11:59pm UK Time

This call supports UK-based researchers and innovators developing computational, data-driven, and systems-based modelling approaches, including:

  • Simulation & system dynamics
  • Agent-based modelling
  • AI & machine learning
  • Digital twins & scenario modelling

Projects should design, build, test, and validate tools and models that deliver practical insights, predictions, and decision support for industry and policymakers.

Focus areas include strengthening food security through resilient and sustainable food supply chains.
